"I enjoyed the adventures of Smiley especially. His various escapades show Island life and attitudes in a pointed but amusing way and are a more accurate narration of Island life than a dry factual accounting could ever be. " - Vincent K. Hubbard, Historian and author of Swords, Ships and Sugar | ||
| "Amba has a very strong social conscience, and one who is prepared to champion the cause of the downtrodden." - Vance Amory, Premier of Nevis | "Some people may say Trott talks mainly nonsense. All I know is that his writing has earned my admiration and respect." - Gary Steckles, former News Editor, The Montreal Gazette, former Editor-in-Chief, Caribbean Week, Caribbean Restaurateur | "Dear Mr. Trott: Thank you for your honesty, your integrity, and your talent, all of which you share with us, your readers, in a wonderfully witty, entertaining, and educational manner. - Nancy J. Teppler, a reader in California |
| "Nonsense in Nevis is totally riveting and a must READ FOR ALL. Amba's literary style can only be described as brilliant and refreshing." - Charles Bussue, former Director of Government Information Service of the Nevis Island Administration |

"Amba Trott moves with admirable ease from one genre to the other; short story writing, to essays, to poetry. The collection of poems, though small, is varied and reflects a range of styles and influences. The poems are, indeed, demonstration of Mr. Trott's versatility." - Gwendolyn Nisbett, Lecturer, Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College, St. Kitts |
Montreal born Amba Trott also lived in Toronto in the '60s and early '70s and was known in both cities for his involvement in Black drama groups and productions. Since 1985 he has been living in Nevis, the land of his mother's birth. This book is a testament of his experience in Nevis and its human, social, political, and spiritual landscape - it is well worth reading for information or pleasure. |
